A popular dining spot closed due to the COVID 19 pandemic- will re-open its doors next week.

A popular dining spot closed due to the COVID 19 pandemic- will re-open its doors next week.  The “Grove Restaurant” is coming back with a “refreshed menu” and “redesigned interior”.

It’s an exciting time for the Essence Restaurant Group which runs the Grove Restaurant on Cherry Street. Just a little shy of two years after closing due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it is opening its doors once again. Here’s Essence Managing Partner, James Berg.

“This to us is like opening a new restaurant. The feeling that we’ve gotten somewhere. Instead of closing things down, we’re opening anew.”

Berg says they’ve had the opportunity to “re-imagine” Grove…. From the menu to its interior design.

“There’s the silver lining in every cloud and for Grove if we had stayed open and never had this pandemic, we would not have gotten to re imagine. Especially the interior.”

The restaurant first opened in 2011 as one of the regions first farm to table dining concepts. Forced to close in March of 2020 due to the pandemic it did re open for a short bit with a carry out pop-up concept. But now, Berg says they’ve had two years to explore the country’s culinary hot spots and analyze dining trends; he says they’re excited to share what they’ve learned.

Grove reopens Wednesday, February 23rd. Berg says there’s seating for 86 and when the weather warms up they’ll have patio seating for an additional 20.
