Two GOP lawmakers called to testify

Two Michigan Republicans are on the list of 14 people subpoenaed Friday, Jan 28 by the US House committee investigating the January 6th insurrection. The committee chair wants to ask about efforts to overturn the presidential election results.

The subpoenas were sent to Kathy Berden and and Mayra Rodriguez. Berden is a Republican National Committeewoman from Michigan and Rodriguez is a party activist who ran unsuccessfully for a state House seat. Both were also listed as presidential electors for Donald Trump in a fake list sent by some state Republicans to the National Archives.

Efforts to contact both were unsuccessful. The Democratic chair of the House January 6th committee says it appears to be part of an effort to falsify results. The committee chair says Republicans from Michigan and six other states tried to swing the election to Trump after Joe Biden had already won.
