Muskegon County will be hosting its first walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Saturday, March 27, for Muskegon County residents who are age 60 and older and their spouses.

According to Muskegon’s Health West, the clinic, which is free, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Muskegon Community College Health and Wellness Center. While those eligible must be over 60, however the rule does not apply to spouses.

Officials say, the clinic is in an effort to make sure that all people over the age of 60 in Muskegon County who want to be vaccinated are given the opportunity, as well as to educate those who may have concerns over the vaccine’s safety. Cecilia Riley is the Communications Supervisor for Health West.

Whether or not you are coming to the clinic and you have made up your mind that ‘yes, I want to be vaccinated’ we wanted to open it up and allow people who are maybe hesitant or have questions around being vaccinated to come in and talk to a nurse educator,” Riley said. “No pressure to be vaccinated they certainly can that day, if they want to leave and think about it further, they can do that as well.”

The clinic will be offering the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine, and follow up clinic will be held to ensure all participants receive the second dose.
