With Valentine’s Day around the corner and the COVID-19 pandemic leading to a surge in virtual dating, the personal-finance website WalletHub recently released its report on 2021’s Best and Worst States for Singles.  Here’s a look at where Michigan stands.

To help unattached Americans improve their chances of finding love, WalletHub, the personal finance website, compared data as it relates to dating friendliness.  It turns out, Michigan landed in the top ten of states as the best place for singles.  Here’s WalletHub analyst, Jill Gonzalez.

“We looked at all 50 states, across27 different indicators of dating friendliness, that ranges from the share of adults within a state, to online dating opportunities, even to COVID 19 restrictions. And right now, Michigan is a pretty good place to be single, it ranks in the top ten and that’s a pretty good place to be, right at number 9.”

Gonzalez adds the data in this survey can be used beyond Valentine’s Day.

“This is going to be yearly data. Maybe more helpful, around valentines.  Especially if you are single, hopefully you’re closer to finding someone in Michigan, than in a lot of other states.”

Looking at other areas the state in, Michigan ranks 13th for the percentage of single adults, we rank 30th for online dating opportunities and 9th as to relates to movie theaters per capita.
