State Attorney General Dana Nessel says her office will no longer prosecute people who violate Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s COVID-19 executive orders. That’s following a state Supreme Court advisory opinion that says the governor exceeded her emergency authority.
Nessel’s statement says her decision is not binding on local law enforcement or other state agencies that may choose to take enforcement actions.
