Mark Huizenga cruises to victory in 74th District
In Michigan’s 74th District, incumbent and State Representative Mark Huizenga defeated challenger Brock Story, a 22-year-old warehouse worker, for the Republican Party’s nomination. Huizenga was mayor of Walker before winning the seat in 2018. He says, he does not take the win Tuesday evening lightly.
“We never take anything for granted, so we always work harder than we have to, and want to do more, and I think the same holds true for my work in the future, I always want to do more and better things for my district,” Huizenga said.
The 74th District encompasses the cities of Walker, Grandville, Rockford and Cedar Springs, Huizenga will face Democrat Meagan Hintz in November, who ran unopposed for the Democratic Party’s nomination.
