Attorney for family of 16 year old who died after being restrained calls for more charges

Cornelius Fredericks' Family

The attorney for the family of Cornelius Fredericks released video Tuesday showing the restraint that led to his death.

Three people are facing criminal charges in the case, but the video shows at least eight people holding Fredericks down.

They tackled him after Fredericks tossed bits of sandwich crust in a cafeteria.

Geoffrey Fieger is the family’s attorney.

“Cornelius Fredericks did nothing, he’s a child. He threw a sandwich and he was executed on videotape."

The Kalamazoo County prosecuting attorney says his office is “assessing” whether to bring more criminal charges in the case.
