About 73.5 million Americans plan to look for a job that is more pandemic-proof.

That’s according to a new WalletHub survey.

And, that’s just one of the things the survey reveals about Americans view on life and what some call the new normal.
The Coronavirus and the Future of the Economy survey by WalletHub looked at Americans’ thoughts on our economic situation during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.  This includes how comfortable people are with traveling and shopping in person along with how quickly they think the U.S. economy will recover.

Here’s WalletHub Analyst, Jill Gonzalez.

“Right now, all states have reopened at least partially, and now consumers perceptions of their safety, lack thereof, it’s going to be a big part of how economy recovers. Right now, a lot of people, about 73 Million Americans plan on looking for a job that is more pandemic proof.”

More people will be looking from work from home, work. A lot of looking at offices as a thing of the past now.”

Gonzalez says they’re survey also found that people may not be comfortable with things like going out to eat for quite some time.

“Travel and dining will both continue to take a hit until there’s a vaccine.  We found that about four in ten Americans won’t feel comfortable getting on an airplane until there’s a vaccine, another 30 percent won’t feel comfortable staying in a hotel, and 20 percent won’t feel comfortable dining out until a vaccines.”

Other factors in the survey examined how people felt about a full recovery in employment.

“The thinking here is probably no.  People view a full recovery in employment is pretty far off.  Almost 80 percent of Americans don’t think that the unemployment rate  will drop to pre-COVID-19 levels until at least end of 2021 if at all.”
