The new Michigan Virtual Court Directory allows viewers to select court hearings by county and watch either a live stream or a video posted after the session has ended.  Bridget McCormack is the Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court.  She says the site is meant to streamline access to the state’s legal system into a single portal.

“We have to constantly work on making sure our web resources are transparent, and hopefully this is one of these tools that we can be proud of because the public will find it easy, I think, to navigate.”

McCormack says the site was already in the works before the coronavirus pandemic forced public institutions to conduct business online.  She adds the system is already showing, in her words, “efficiencies across the board.”
