Thanks to a partnership with the Kent County Essential Needs Taskforce, United Way and local software developers, Kent County residents now have a one stop shop to find food resources during the coronavirus. Jessa Challa works is a software developer at Mallowfields, and is one of the brains behind the directory.

“We wanted to be able to direct our community to accurate resources that had the right information because we were seeing people unable to find those answers.”

Before this tool, residents of Kent County would have to call 211 to receive a referral to community food resources in the area, but today, Challa says residents can seek the help they need by going directly to helpkent.org. To make an update to the map email updates@helpkent.org.
