While large sporting events and concerts have been cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus, movies are still being screened at Celebration Cinema and AMC Cinema.
Studio C is limiting all screenings in Celebration Cinema theaters to no more than 100 people. While monitoring the developments pertaining to COVID-19, Studio C is providing hand sanitizers in all lobbies, door-less bathrooms and no touch fixtures. They say they’re prioritizing proper cleaning between shows and at the end of each night.
Ron Van Timmeran from Studio C: “It’s the super clean concept…between shows and overnight the deep clean…to that end we can also limit seating in auditoriums so that you don’t have to sit next to somebody if you don’t want to, you can keep that seat or two space… that concept of social distancing, now, becoming a thing.”
Celebration Cinemas have been designed with public health considerations in mind, according to Studio C.
The smaller Wealthy Theater, affiliated with the Grand Rapids Community Media Center and the UICA film theater, licensed through Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University are closed.
