State Senator Peter Lucido says he did not sexually harass women. That’s his response to an internal investigation that found allegations of improper conduct are “credible.”
An inquiry by the non-partisan Senate clerk’s office into allegations from three women determined that Lucido’s conduct was inappropriate. As a result, the Macomb County Republican was removed from his position as chair of the Senate Advice and Consent Committee. He was also ordered by the Senate Majority Leader to undergo training. Lucido will still chair another Senate committee.
The Senate clerk’s office relied heavily on statements by the women about comments by Lucido, including remarks about their looks.
In an e-mailed statement, Lucido disputes the findings and says the Senate’s inquiry does not constitute substantiated proof he did anything wrong.
