G.R. Launches Online GR News Hub
The City of Grand Rapids is making it easier for residents to keep track of city happenings. The Office of Communications has launched an online hub that serves as a one-stop spot for residents.
“This is just a great opportunity for folks to just at one click, get a lot of the information they need to feel like they’re staying up to date.”
That’s Amy Snow-Buckner, Managing Director of Communications for the city of Grand Rapids. She says they just launched an online hub-the GR News Hub to be specific. And its in partnership with the 311 Customer Service and Innovation Department—its goal is to keep the community connected. And Snow-Buckner says it just adds on to their award-winning website.
“This is a central location for folks to check out our GR connect, our monthly e-newsletter , our we are GR publication that we produce with GRPS, they can find out the next city commission meetings, they can watch video blogs that the city manager and mayor do monthly, it’s one stop shop.”
Snow-Buckner says you can still search for items you need… but this just makes it easy to find city news. She adds, they’re looking for feedback to make sure it’s fully addressing residents’ needs.
“This is a tool for our residents and our businesses and other community stakeholders, so this is for them; always looking for that feedback for the folks who we do this for. This is a service for our community.”
