GVSU President outlines Reach Higher Together imperatives

Grand Valley State University President Philomena Mantella outlined her strategy for the school’s future during the November Board of Trustees meeting with her Reach Higher Together imperatives.

Dr. Mantella has been seeking input from the entire Grand Valley community as she formulates a strategy for the university’s future. Hundreds of faculty, staff and students have been meeting in what have been called “Grand Huddles.” Meetings where opportunities and challenges are addressed. More than 2,200 ideas and comments have been expressed.

As Dr. Mantella formulates a Grand Future, during the November Board of Trustees meeting, she outlined The Reach Higher Together imperatives.

It begins with expand high-impact learning opportunities.

Increasing the ability to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Providing quality, flexibility and efficient ways to serve students throughout their lifetime.

Experimenting and creating new partnerships and funding avenues that shape the best educational experience for a diverse group of learners.

Finally, building upon Grand Valley's history and reputation for offering a high-touch approach with high-tech opportunities to widen access to programs and faculty.
