Ex-MSU President’s criminal case can go to trial

non-licensed

A judge says there is enough evidence against ex-president of Michigan State University, Lou Anna Simon, to send her case to trial.

Lou Anna Simon is accused of lying to law enforcement.

The preliminary exam ended in July. That was after several months of prosecutors trying to show that Simon lied about what she knew about Larry Nassar and when. Nassar is the former university sports doctor who was convicted of sexually assaulting his patients under the guise of treatment.

Simon told police that she didn’t know the details of a 20-14 internal investigation into Nassar. But an Eaton County district court judge said there was enough evidence to have a jury decide. Simon’s next court date is scheduled for December 12th.
