Anti-Semitic vandalism reported at Grand Rapids synagogue

Wikipedia

The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating what could be a hate crime after a local synagogue reported it had been vandalized with anti-Semitic views.

Police were called Sunday morning to the Temple Emanuel after hate materials were found on one of its outside doors.

Police, and synagogue representatives, did not disclose exactly what was discovered---only reporting that it was derogatory in nature to the Jewish faith.

According to a press release, the GRPD found the crime particularly disappointing, given that earlier in the day the department attended a “Stop the Violence Summit” at the Lamb of God Church.

Grand Rapids Chief of Police Eric Payne issued this statement Sunday evening, (quote)

“Hate has no place in our community and it will not be tolerated…our officers work hard every day to ensure safety and security for everyone in this city."
