Holland-based EBW Electronics employs 230 workers making automotive lighting circuit boards. The parts come from China, and are assembled here. Recently, EBW chairman Pat LaBlanc told the New York Times tariffs on Chinese made componens were "killing us."
In the Times story, its also stated the tarrifs incentivize a company to move to either Canada or Mexico. Chairman LaBlanc is a Republican and supporter of President Donald Trump. He spoke with WGVU's Patrick Center about the realities facing his company and the media attenion he's recieved as a centeral figure in the New York Times story.
