LaughFest Individual Tickets Go On Sale Friday

Laughfest
Gilda's Club

It’s the New Year and that means a new “Laughfest” to look forward to.  And organizers say it’ll be here before you know. That’s why individual tickets are going on sale this week.  Friday to be exact.

“We are so excited, it may only be January but we’re already thinking about March and we think others should be too.”

Hard to believe we’re already planning for events in March, but Gilda’s Laughfest 2019 is just around the corner.  And if you’re looking to score tickets for some of the famed headliners… Laughfest Marketing Communications and Events Manager, Hanna Dayton says Friday might be your day.

“So with tickets going on sale on Friday, it’s your first chance to get some individual shows for some of our really big headliners that we’re pleased to bring to Grand Rapids this year.”

Hannah says there’s something for everyone at Gilda’s Laughfest but if you have a favorite performer, you may not want to wait too long.

“Tickets go on sale at 10 am and there are some artists, in particular, one I can name is Ali Wong and she’s been known to sell out in ten minutes.  We also have some other great headliners, like Ed Asner, doing a man and his prostate, some really big names and getting tickets early is really your best bet.”

And as we head into another year of LaughFest… which is always noted as “seriously funny.”  Hanna helps us remember that while laughter’s one of the key elements, the purpose behind this is to bring hope and joy to those dealing with cancer or with grief.  They find that hope at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids.

“So we like to say that Laughfest was originally created to celebrate laughter for the “health” of it.  And finding laughter even in tough times and sometimes laughter is the best medicine; so the proceeds from the ten day festival all benefit our local club and are really a big help so we can maintain our services here in West Michigan.”

The LaughFest festival runs from March 7 to the 17th.  Hanna says in addition to tickets, if you’re interested in volunteering to help out, you can register and find out more at laughfestgr.org.
