Chances are you have a Facebook account. How has it impacted privacy and democracy? Tuesday, October 30th at 10 o’clock WGVU Public Television airs part II of FRONTLINE’s The Facebook Dilemma.

“It’s all about the company’s accountability.”

James Jacoby is producer and correspondent of FRONTLINE’s The Facebook Dilemma investigating a series of warnings to Facebook as the company grew from Mark Zuckerberg’s Harvard dorm room to a global empire tracking user habits.

“And the question about responsibility and accountability is how accountable have they been or responsible have they been with the power of being the main information source for a lot of people? And not just a dog and cat video place but a place where people are getting their news and that’s a responsibility the company says it’s trying to take on.”

Patrick joined WGVU Public Media in December, 2008 after eight years of investigative reporting at Grand Rapids' WOOD-TV8 and three years at WYTV News Channel 33 in Youngstown, Ohio. As News and Public Affairs Director, Patrick manages our daily radio news operation and public interest television programming. An award-winning reporter, Patrick has won multiple Michigan Associated Press Best Reporter/Anchor awards and is a three-time Academy of Television Arts & Sciences EMMY Award winner with 14 nominations.
