Buisness leaders for Michigan PAC endorse Schuette for governor

Progress Michigan

Michigan Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette's campaign announced Monday that it had secured the endorsement of "every single major job creation group in the state of Michigan." The announcement came on the heels of the creation of the Schuette Paycheck Coalition of business leaders last week.

"Bill Schuette has the overwhelming support of every major business organization and thousands of job creators while the Whitmer campaign is struggling to gain support from job creators at all,"  Schuette spokesperson John Sellek said. "This is because Michigan's business leaders remember all too well that Whitmer's high-tax, big government policies during the Lost Decade helped make Michigan an economic basket case.  They don't want to go back."

The endorsement includes the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Association of Michigan, and the Michigan Farm Bureau and the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.

“The question of this campaign is clear: do we go backward or go forward," Schuette said in a press release. "We must build on Michigan’s recovery to take our economy higher and solve problems.  Michigan families simply cannot afford to go backward.  We will go forward."

Last week, Founders Brewing Company announced that they were leaving the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce due its endorsement of Schuette. The group recanted on Friday, and said they would not be leaving the Chamber.
