Attorney General Bill Schuette accuses Gretchen Whitmer of refusing to prosecute Larry Nassar

“Gretchen Whitmer did not refer the case to the department of Attorney General.”

That is Attorney General Bill Schuette accusing Gretchen Whitmer of lying.

“Rather, here is the truth, on October 2016, Jim Dunlap, Chief of Police of Michigan State University called me and said he wanted to talk about evidence he had concerning Larry Nassar. Later that day on October 6thwe took the case and later filed charges.”

Gretchen Whitmer denies Schuette’s claims, and says The Republican Party is using the stories of the survivors for Schuette’s political interests.

“Bill Schuette and his parties’ weaponizing of the Nassar case is callous, is craven, and is a complete lie.”

Whitmer’s campaign team provided a screenshot from the Ingham County Prosecutor’s record management system showing that the office never received any warrant request from the MSU Police Department to charge Nassar while Whitmer was serving as County Prosecutor.

On November 7th, Michigan citizens will have the opportunity to elect a new Michigan governor.
