Hundreds of people took to the streets in Grand Rapids Tuesday afternoon demanding protection and equal rights for undocumented immigrants. Carrying signs that read things like "equal rights for all," "end racist policies," and "deport white supremacy," protestors marched from Roosevelt Park to city hall for the second annual May Day March for Justice.
The march was put on by Cosecha GR, the local chapter of Movimiento Cosecha, a political movement seeking permanent protection and respect for the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.
Cosecha GR is calling on local lawmakers to allow undocumented immigrants access to a state issued driver’s license.
