New ad campaign to raise awareness for child vaccinations

A new ad campaign is being launched in the hopes of raising awareness for child vaccinations. Michigan health officials are launching a vaccination campaign that stresses the importance of vaccinations. The "I Vaccinate" campaign created by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, along with the Franny Strong Foundation--will use television, radio, digital, social and outdoor advertising aimed at preventing serious diseases in children. In addition, a website launched where more information can be found about vaccinations.

The Franny Strong Foundation was created by Veronica and Sean McNally after they lost their infant daughter due to whooping cough.

According to a news release, Michigan ranks 43rd lowest in the U.S. for immunization coverage among children 19 to 35 months---and only 54 percent of Michigan toddlers are currently vaccinated.
