Donald Trump Visits Grand Rapids Area

Donald Trump’s campaign came through town recently. The Republican nominee held a rally at the Deltaplex in Walker, Michigan for about 3000 supporters who turned out for the event. As the loud and enthusiastic crowd chanted “USA” Donald Trump took the stage to a chorus of cheers.

“In eight days, we are going to win the great state of Michigan,” Trump said.

In order for that to happen, Trump needs to make up some ground. According to recent polls, Hillary Clinton has a seven point lead over Trump in the state. Trump used the rally Monday to attack Clinton over the emails that continue to plague her campaign.

“This is the biggest scandal since Watergate. Hillary wants to blame everyone else for her mounting legal troubles, but she has brought all of this on herself. She is unfit and unqualified to be President of the United States.”

On Friday, FBI Director James Comey announced he is investigating whether Hillary Clinton kept classified information on a private email server she used during her tenure as Secretary of State. Comey’s decision came after an FBI investigation into Anthony Weiner uncovered emails from Weiner’s estranged wife Huma Abedin--a longtime Clinton adviser. The emails were sent through Clinton’s private server.

Trump’s visit to the Mitten State did not stop in the Grand Rapids area. After the rally he left to give another speech at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan.
