Three workers at a construction site in western Michigan have been hurt after a roof they were building collapsed.

Ottawa County sheriff's office Sgt. Bob Ruster tells The Grand Rapids Press that it's believed strong winds caused about a dozen trusses to fall Monday afternoon from the roof area.

WOOD-TV reports that the men fell 30 feet to the ground.

Two of the injured workers were able to walk after falling. The third had to be taken to an ambulance on a stretcher.

All three were hospitalized.

The newspaper earlier reported that the victims suffered head and leg injuries.

A county road commission storage facility is being built on the site in Coopersville, northwest of Grand Rapids.
