A 93-year-old woman who authorities say regularly swam in Lake Michigan near her home in western Michigan was pulled from the water and has died.

The Allegan County sheriff's department says rescuers attempted CPR on Thursday afternoon, but Elizabeth Ann Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene in Ganges Township.

The sheriff's department says Bennett lived nearby and was known to swim in Lake Michigan on almost a daily basis.

Investigators say a person saw her swimming on Thursday, but didn't see her get out of the water.

She was found in the water, pulled to the beach and 911 was called.

The person told investigators that nothing appeared out of the ordinary that day.

The medical examiner's office will determine cause of death.
