Conference focuses on Midwestern history, culture, art

Midwestern history, culture, music, literature and art are topics of discussion at a gathering at Grand Valley State University.

The second Midwestern History Conference takes place Wednesday at the school's Pew Grand Rapids Campus.

The conference features historians, literary scholars and cultural critics who are dedicated to helping tell the stories of the Midwest.

More than a dozen panels will highlight the expertise of nearly three dozen experts.

The event is free and open to the public.

The conference is hosted by the Midwestern History Association and the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies at Grand Valley State.
