The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has established a customer service center in Lansing.
The center opens Monday and replaces the Rose Lake Field Office in East Lansing, which closed Friday.
The new Lansing office is one of 10 DNR customer service centers around the state. They're open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
People can go there for a variety of services, from buying permits for hunting, fishing and roadkill salvage to getting information about outdoor regulations and recreation opportunities.
Also available are tests in areas such as boating safety, inland piloting and falconry.
DNR Director Bill Moritz says opening the Lansing facility is part of a broader effort to save money by consolidating facilities and maximizing public accessibility.
