Ten community health centers in Michigan are getting a share of more than $3.4 million in federal funding to improve and expand access to substance abuse services.
The funding announced recently by U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters of Michigan comes through the Health Resources and Services Administration. They say the money is expected to support 31 new full-time employees and more than 3,900 new patients.
The government says Alcona Citizens for Health is getting more than $400,000 in funding, Cherry Street Health Services in Grand Rapids is getting more than $350,000 and the Genesee Health System is getting more than $379,000. Details on other recipients are posted online.
