A Webberville man has been convicted of murder in the death of a landscaper who was found in his Livingston County home on New Year's Eve in 2011.
Anthony Duke faces life in prison without parole when he returns to court on Oct. 22.
Police believe robbery was a motive. Ron Hauser owned a tree-trimming service and was known to keep large amounts of cash.
Prosecutor Scott Ehlfeldt told jurors that circumstantial evidence pointed to Duke. He says Duke lied to police, wouldn't give them a shotgun and looked up information on how to beat a lie detector test.
Defense attorney Rolland Sizemore had begged the jury not to make assumptions made by police.
Duke was convicted of second-degree murder and murder committed during another felony.
