DNR seeks information on 18 deer killed in western Michigan

State conservation officers are seeking information from the public after 18 deer were killed in the western Michigan city of Norton Shores since last fall.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the deer were shot with a small-caliber rifle between October 2014 and this month.

The agency says that most of the deer were killed outside of the state's deer hunting seasons. Tips are being sought on the investigation.
