A multi-million dollar project is underway at Holland’s West Michigan Regional Airport.
In Holland, they broke ground on a $6.6 million dollar airport project. The West Michigan Regional Airport is constructing a new aircraft apron and a $2 million Airport Business Center.
“We’re going to do some things inside the building to make it very welcoming.”
That’s Greg Robinson, Airport Authority Manager.
“So that they know they’re in the Holland-Zeeland, West Michigan area. And I think it is just going to be a great spot as they enter into our community.”
The Federal Aviation Administration is funding about 87 percent of the project including the 7,500 square foot business center.
Matthew Haworth, Chairman, Haworth Inc., explains it’s value to the business community.
“We need to bring Holland to the world and sell them on our organization’s capabilities and also when we need talent and they come here we need to sell them on Holland.”
Haworth pointing out that Holland isn’t the easiest place for corporate America to get to. But with state of the art improvements to the airport it makes the area more attractive to the global business community.
