Flint residents attend town hall meeting on water injunction

A town hall meeting has been held in Flint to inform residents about a recent injunction regarding the city's tainted water supply.

More than 100 residents attended the meeting Thursday night at a church in Flint. Attorney Val Washington, who's suing the city over its water rates and policies, spoke to the crowd and explained what the preliminary injunction means to them as water customers.

The Flint Journal reports that Washington said a meeting will be held Monday to determine whether the case will become a class action lawsuit.

At the meeting, the Concerned Pastors for Social Action announced plans to give away 1,500 water filters to Flint residents on Tuesday.

The city has been in violation of the Safe Drinking Water Act since the beginning of this year.
