State: Products from unlicensed facility pose health risks

State officials are warning consumers of possible food poisoning risks associated with some Brandy & Dutch Weigand pickled products, relishes, syrups and jams.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development says Monday that some products labeled Brandy's "Jam"boree-N-More, Brandy & Dutch Weigand, and Pier III were manufactured in an unlicensed facility.

It says that facility was not using required controls for the safe production of processed foods. No illnesses have been reported.

The products should be thrown out. They were sold at various farmers markets and festivals, including farmers markets in St. Clair Shores, Dodge Park, Sterling Heights, Shelby Township and New Baltimore.
