Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance announces resignation of executive director

Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance

On Wednesday, the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance also known as LEDA, announced the resignation of Latoya Booker, the executive director. Booker has been in the role since the summer of 2017.

LEDA is an organization located in Holland, Michigan working to dismantle barriers and ensure equitable access to opportunities regardless of race or ethnicity.

“She has been a tremendous leader for our organization. The new opportunity she is going to is very exciting and will continue to be a partner in equity work.

That is Board Chair, Sarah Howard, who says Christina Arnold will be acting as interim executive for the time being.

“We are also feeling extremely fortunate that Christina Arnold was able to transition us to our next stage.”

Arnold recently retired from Grand Rapids Community College where she served as the director of the Bob and Alecia Woodrick Center for Equity and Inclusion.

Booker’s tenure at LEDA garnered the most well attended and supported Summit on Race and Inclusion to date.
