Fred Stella welcomes back author and academician Dr. Manisha Sinha to continue to discuss her book 'The Rise and Fall of the Second American Republic.' Manisha provides elements of our nation's history that many do not consider when attempting to explain just how we ended up with the challenges facing us today. Colonialism, racism, class power structures and of course, religious chauvinism all play a part in this current scenario.
Manisha Sinha is the Draper Chair in American History at the University of Connecticut, Storrs and a 2022 Guggenheim Fellow. She received her Ph.D from Columbia University where her dissertation was nominated for the Bancroft prize.
