General admission grants access to all three floors of the Museum and two new traveling exhibits only at the GRPM for a limited time

The Grand Rapids Public Museum says it has three floors of educational exhibits, special shows in the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium, and engaging activities geared towards students on break. A news release says visitors of all ages will discover something new and interesting to do at the Museum.

General admission grants access to all three floors of the Museum and two new traveling exhibits only at the GRPM for a limited time. “Mandela: The Official Exhibition” is open through May 26th . It features more than 150 historical artifacts and personal effects on loan from the Mandela family, museums, and archives worldwide.

Divided into zones, the exhibit walks visitors through eras of Mandela’s life from rural childhood through the turbulent struggle against the apartheid regime to his vindication and final years as South Africa’s first democratically elected president.

There’s also “Building Buddies” for children two through 8. It’s an immersive journey through a neighborhood that encourages creativity and learning.

Dustin Tyler, the GRPM’s Vice President of Marketing & PR, “The GRPM is the perfect staycation destination for families seeking inspiration and fun during Spring Break.”
