The search for the school’s new president has been underway since May

Last October, the MSU Board of Trustees unanimously appointed provost Teresa Woodruff as interim president.

The move came after then-president Samuel Stanley Jr. resigned citing a loss of confidence in the board. Now, Woodruff says she won’t be seeking the role full time.

The search for the school’s new president has been underway since May. Trustee Dennis Denno chairs the search committee. He says members of the group are reviewing applications as they come in.

“It's currently open. And we are still collecting names and still collecting CVS. We have a great pool of candidates, both traditional and nontraditional, who are interested in leading Michigan State University.”

So far, fewer than one hundred people have applied for the role.
