Michigan gas prices drop 19 cents from last week

Michigan gas prices drop 19 cents from last week… but the state average is still 64 cents more than this time last year.

Gas prices in Michigan are down 19 cents from a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $4.04 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 23 cents less than this time last month but still 64 cents more than this time last year.

Motorists are paying an average of $60 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $9 from 2021's highest price last November.

Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group says quote, "The recent price spikes have reversed with Michigan motorists now seeing a double-digit drop in gas prices," she adds, "If oil prices continue to decline, pump prices could follow suit." End quote.

The most expensive gas price averages can be found in Benton Harbor, Jackson and Traverse City with the least expensive averages found in Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and Marquette.
