The tradition continues. Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids has announced its annual day camp- “Camp Sparkle” is gearing up for another year. The goal is to help children impacted by grief.
Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids’ annual day camp is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. It explores ways of coping with cancer or grief for any reason.
A news release about Camp Sparkle, says the camp, which supports overall emotional health is once again free to attend and open to children from all surrounding communities. It provides children with a chance to connect and interact with other children who have gone through cancer, have been impacted by a cancer journey of a loved one or have experienced grief, due to the death of a family member or friend.
Gilda’s Club professional program staff facilitate the camp which starts July 12th and is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will include a special family day.
