The rush is on to get the perfect Mother’s Days gift. And as the day approaches, the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan is warning and reminding shoppers to use caution, especially when purchasing those gifts online.

The Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan is issuing a reminder for everyone to use caution when shopping online and in stores this Mother’s Day. Online Purchase scams are the most riskiest that’s according to the BBB's Annual Risk Report. Katie Grevious, Communications Specialist with the Better Business Bureau Serving Western Michigan. She says make sure you do some background checks before you make a purchase; including floral purchases.
“Especially if you’re trying to order flowers online and want them delivered out of state. Ask important questions. What is their refund policy?”
According to the National Retail Federation, Mother’s Day Spending is expected to reach a record high, with electronics and jewelry among the top gifts this year.
“You can’t let these really flashy adds and these really enticing deals with similar sounding names, lure you in, even for electronics that are sale this Mother’s Day, or if you want to get gift cards to certain places.”
