The Michigan state average is still $1.20 more than this time last year

Gas prices in Michigan are down 10 cents compared to last week. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $4.04 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is still 30 cents more than this time last month..

Motorists are paying an average of $60 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $9 from when prices were their highest last November.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), total domestic gasoline stocks increased and gasoline demand decreased. The drop in gas demand, alongside growth in total stocks, contributes to price decreases.

Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson for AAA-The Auto Club Group in Michigan says, "A decrease in demand alongside higher gasoline stocks has led to lower pump prices," she adds, "If these trends continue as crude oil prices decline, motorists could likely see gas prices move lower."

The most expensive gas price averages can be found in Marquette, Traverse City and Ann Arbor.. with the least expensive averages in Grand Rapids, Benton Harbor and Saginaw.
