PFAs Action Agenda Preview

PFAs Action Agenda Preview

A group formed to address the presence of toxic chemicals in Michigan’s environment is planning to outline its policy goals tomorrow.

The Great Lakes PFAs Action Network helps communities dealing with PFAs contamination.

Co-chair Tony Spaniola says its legislative priorities deal with clean up…stopping the chemicals’ use…and helping those already affected.

“The real effort to push this issue forward has come, not from legislators, not from scientists, not from lawyers, not from bureaucrats but from the people who’ve been impacted.”

PFAs take a very long time to break down…are found in common household products…and have been found in high levels in groundwater in parts of the state.
