Republican Tommy Brann served three terms in the Michigan House. He’s a member of the House Appropriations committee chairing the Military & Veterans Affairs & State Police subcommittee. He also serves on the Corrections, School Aid & Department of Education, and Transportation subcommittees.
A small business owner, he’s been operating Brann’s Steakhouse & Grille for 50 years.
On his campaign website, in a video Brann explains why he’s running for Michigan Senate.
“I decided to run because I felt compelled to by the current crisis facing our state. With statewide leadership not knowing what it takes to run a business, or create a job, now more than ever it’s important to have a restauranteur in the legislature.”
Brann says he understands the financial harm the pandemic caused small business owners and he’ll continue working in Lansing supporting local economies by keeping tax rates low.
The Michigan primary is Tuesday, August 3rd.
