Weekly we focus on the work of area organizations advancing inclusion and equity in our community. This morning we welcome from First Steps, Annemarie Valdez, President & CEO, and Heather Boswell, Senior Director of Operations & Projects. Joining the discussion is WGVU grant writer, Steve Chappell. This weekly segment is part of a grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation aimed at increasing West Michigan’s capacity to influence public narrative affecting children and families of color.

Shelley Irwin is the host and producer for The Shelley Irwin Show, a news magazine talk-show format on the local NPR affiliate Monday through Friday. The show, broadcast at 9 a.m., features a wide variety of local and national news makers, plus special features.
