Tanger consulted with Hope Network’s Center for Autism on its development.

Both Tanger and Hope Network hope the garden will be a spot to enjoy a break from holiday shopping.

The TangerKids Sensory Garden, located near the flag court, features a multitude of sections to explore.

Tanger wanted to make sure the design and layout was welcoming to both kids and adults of all abilities, so they consulted with Hope Network’s Center for Autism on its development.

The garden originally opened in September and features non-toxic greenery, paved walkways and other interactive attractions that appeal to the senses of smell, sight, sound and touch, all in a maze-like setting. The garden will be open year-round.

Tanger Outlets, located in Byron Center, features over 70 retailers stretched out over a 375,00 square foot open-air setting and has proven to be a popular shopping destination in West Michigan.

Both Tanger and Hope Network hope the new sensory garden will be a spot for both adults and kids to enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of the holiday shopping season.
