Hundreds of thousands of people across lower Michigan spent another night in the cold after Wednesday’s ice storm brought down thousands of trees and power lines.

DTE Electric President Trevor Lauer says more help is on the way.

“We have over 3400 people actively working in the field working on restoration activities and we have additional crews coming in from out of state to to work on this restoration process with us today.”

Overnight temperatures dipped into the teens last night and will stay well below freezing until tomorrow afternoon.

Warming centers have been set up in many municipalities… residents are asked to dial 2-1-1 or contact city government for information and assistance.
