Chantel Watkins is campaigning to raise Michigan’s minimum wage to 15-dollars-an-hour with the group “One Fair Wage.”

She credits a strong volunteer base with gathering around 400-thousand signatures so far.

“They know exactly what it’s like to have to pick which bill is getting paid that week, so a lot of people are pitching in because no more. And inflation is insane right now. So, people definitely have kind of stepped up, especially in the last month, to want to help.” :17

Constitutional amendment proposals have until July 11th to file their paperwork.
