Steven J. Ross returns to Common Threads to continue our conversation on his book, ‘Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America.’ Steven Ross is Professor of History at USC. He received his B.A. from Columbia University, a Bachelor of Philosophy from Oxford University, and a PhD from Princeton University. Professor Ross has written extensively in the areas of working-class history, social history, film history, and political history. Professor Ross's book, ‘Hollywood Left and Right: How Movie Stars Shaped American Politics,’ received a Pulitzer Prize nomination and a Film Scholars Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Ross' Op-Ed pieces have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Time, International Herald-Tribune, Washington Independent, Politico, Hollywood Reporter, Huffington Post, and more. He is also the co-founder and former co-director of the Los Angeles Institute for the Humanities at USC.
