Gas prices in the state have dropped slightly as we start the week. The Michigan state average is down four cents from last week.

AAA reports gas prices in Michigan are down 4 cents from a week ago. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.91 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 57 cents less than this time last month but still 75 cents more than this time last year.

Motorists are paying an average of $59 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; an increase of about $8 from 2021's highest price last November.

Adrienne Woodland, spokesperson, AAA-The Auto Club Group "While Michigan motorists continue to see some relief at the pump, the decreases appear to be slowing down. She adds, "If demand increases as we head into the close of summer, motorists could see prices rise slightly."

The most expensive gas price averages can be found in Traverse City, Ann Arbor and Marquette. The least expensive averages are found in Flint, Saginaw and Grand Rapids.
